Police investigate desecration of Islamic graves at Sydney cemetery
Sydney police are investigating the alleged desecration of Islamic graves in the city’s south-west.
Photos released by the Lebanese Muslim Association (LMA) show damage to multiple graves at the Al Nur cemetery in Narellan.

The LMA, which owns and manages the cemetery, claimed the act of vandalism on Monday was “an act of hatred directed at Muslims”.
“There is something particularly vile about targeting the dead,” it said.
“These graves belong to mothers, fathers, grandparents, sons and daughters.
“They were Australians of Islamic faith who deserve the same dignity and respect as every other Australian.”
Graves at the site had previously been desecrated following the Bondi Beach terror attack in December 2025.
The LMA said during an incident pigs’ heads were thrown onto graves at Al Nur.
It said it was working with police to find those responsible for the latest incident.
The cemetery is also rolling out the installation of security cameras and extra security measures.
A police spokesperson told nine.com.au an investigation was under way and inquiries are continuing.
