NSW man jumps on bonnet to stop thief

A man has hurled himself onto the bonnet of his car as a thief drove it away from his home in Sydney's southwest.

The 35-year-old man's keys and car were stolen at a leisure centre in Cabravale about 6pm on Thursday.

The man returned to his Cabramatta house about an hour later, where he spotted the thief getting into his car while it was parked in the carport.

The owner jumped on the bonnet to try and stop the thief, sustaining minor injuries as the car drove off.
