NSW man charged with child procurement

A man has been slapped with a string of charges, including child procurement, after arranging to meet with detectives who had posed as a teenage girl online.

The Sex Crimes Squad began an investigation last month after receiving several reports of a man approaching teenage girls on a social networking site.

The 50-year-old was arrested at a cafe in Sydney's west on Tuesday, after speaking on a number of occasions with detectives who had assumed the identity of a 14-year-old girl.

It's alleged the man made a number of sexually explicit comments, sent indecent images and requested to meet during their online conversations.

Officers also seized electronic devices and other equipment in a raid on his home in Mount Pritchard.
