NSW man admits brutally injuring 2yo son

A Sydney man has admitted brutally injuring his toddler two years ago.

The North Rocks man, who cannot be named for legal reason, was arrested in July 2014 after his two-year-old son was brought to Westmead Children's Hospital suffering significant head and body injuries.

The father had planned to fight the allegations he was responsible for the injuries but on Tuesday, on what was to be the first day of his Parramatta District Court trial, he pleaded guilty to a grievous bodily harm with intent charge.

He is expected to face a sentencing hearing in August.
