Body found during search for 37-year-old man who went missing in NSW river on Australia Day

A body has been found during a search for a missing 37-year-old man who fell off a floatation device on a NSW river on Australia Day.

The man was seen falling from a floating device being towed from a boat on the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point about 2pm on Sunday, January 26.

When he failed to resurface, a search and rescue operation commenced.

The search entered its third day today at 7.30am after it was suspended yesterday.

The body of a man was found around 8.10am.

A crime scene was established and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Darlington Point is a small town on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River and is a popular spot for camping.
