Indonesian police revealed Damien Shaw intentionally lowered security cameras at the Legian villa, but the sounds of screaming were still captured before he allegedly killed his two children - son Archie, 6, and daughter Laura, 4.

“The CCTV footage shows the daughter running away while being chased by her father,” police said.

“She can be heard saying, ‘I love you Daddy, I love you Daddy’, and appears frightened.”

It’s understood the children suffered fatal neck injuries before their father took his own life.

Circumstances around the murders are still under investigation, but authorities in Indonesia confirmed the bodies weren’t forensically examined and they have no plans to do so.

“They think no-one can be brought to justice, so they decide not to perform the autopsy,” a forensic doctor said.

Shaw’s wife - who had called for a welfare check, which led to the discovery of the bodies - told Indonesian police he had become increasingly emotionally unstable and suffered from severe anxiety.

The 56-year-old, originally from Perth, worked in the maritime industry and spent the last eight years in Bali.

Shaw’s wife was away in Jakarta visiting her parents when she noticed a change in the family’s home CCTV and raised concerns with police on Sunday, leading to the tragic find.
