Man charged after 51-year-old man killed in boating accident on Murray River

A 52-year-old man has been charged after another man died in a boating accident on the Murray River last year.

Emergency services were called to Perricoota Waters in Moama, near the border of NSW and Victoria, on November 23 after a man aged 51 was pulled from the water.

Police believe the man fell from a boat after it suddenly stopped when a water skier being towed fell into the river.

The 51-year-old man was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

The water skier was uninjured.

The charged man, 52, was issued a future court attendance notice for the offence of culpably navigating under influence – cause death by impact.

He will front Deniliquin Local Court on April 26.
