Men charged with faking Sydney kidnapping

A Sydney man and his son will face court charged with faking a kidnapping and ransom plot.

A 47-year-old was found injured inside a vehicle at Strathfield on Wednesday, with police later told the man had been kidnapped the previous day and held for ransom.

The man and his 21-year-old son were on Friday charged with false representations sparking a police investigation, and publishing false or misleading material to obtain advantage.

The pair were refused bail to front Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
