Man refuses to get off roof after pursuit

A man accused of evading police in a stolen car is refusing to come down from a rooftop in western Sydney.

The man sprinted from officers following a police pursuit in Doonside at about 10.45am on Thursday.

"Officers pursued the man on foot before he climbed on to the roof of a home in Alinga Place," a NSW Police spokeswoman said.

Specialist and local officers remained on scene 90 minutes after the police operation began.
