Man charged over Sydney CBD fight

A man has been charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm after a fight in Sydney's CBD left another man with serious head injuries.

Police say the men, both aged 22 and known to each other, were fighting in the early hours of New Year's Day when one fell and hit his head.

He was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Police have charged a man over the fight and granted him conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on January 11.
