Man accused of abusing child in his care

A 45-year-old NSW man has been charged with sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl while she was in his care six years ago.

The man was extradited from Queensland to NSW over the alleged 2010 child sex offences in the state's central west after he came to police attention for an unrelated matter last week.

He was charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a person under 10 and one count of aggravated indecent assault.

The man is in custody and due to face Waverley Local Court on Tuesday.
