Residents concerned after teenagers invited to planned mass bike rideout in Sydney

Residents are concerned about a planned mass rideout on Sydney's Northern Beaches scheduled for this weekend.
Flyers have been spotted circulating online that advertise a "Northern Beaches Rideout" on Sunday morning.
Local father Tom told Ben Fordham Live! that teenagers with e-bikes, dirtbikes and motorbikes have been invited to the rideout on social media, including his 13-year-old daughter.

"I'm concerned for the riders, the motorists and the community. There's a lot going on," Tom said.
"I was just talking about safety of riding the bikes with my daughter and she produced that [flyer], showed me and said what's happening in the area."
Fordham said police had been informed about the event.
"How will we ever get on top of this unless NSW adopts policies from other states to confiscate and destroy these machines?" Tom added.
"I've narrowly avoided hitting two kids on the road in as many weeks."
It remains unknown how many riders plan on attending the event.
NSW Police told nine.com.au it is aware of plans for a "large group bicycle ride through the Northern Beaches area".
There will be a large police presence at the event, police said.
"Anti-social or dangerous behaviour including reckless riding, blocking roads, and putting other road users and pedestrians at risk won't be tolerated," NSW Police said in a statement.
"All riders need to wear a helmet, ride a compliant bike, comply with the road rules and follow the directions of police.
"Inquiries into the event are ongoing."

It comes after a popular Sydney golf course was vandalised by e-bike hoons earlier this week.
Four riders broke into Cronulla Golf Course about 8.30pm on Tuesday. CCTV footage captured the moment the alleged offenders caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
The incident took place two weeks after Long Reef Golf Club suffered a similar fate as multiple teenage e-bike riders ripped up the greens at the Collaroy golf course.

In nearby Miranda on Tuesday, e-bikers also used a fire extinguisher, coating a netball court.
Mass rideouts are increasingly taking over suburban roads across the state.
Community leaders are labelling the behaviour as completely out of bounds.
"They're like a plague of ants on our community, people are scared," a resident told 9News.
There are growing calls for the NSW government to introduce age limits and licensing for high-powered e-bikes.
