Manly NRL player Dylan Walker will plead not guilty to domestic violence charges when the case goes to a hearing early in 2019.

The 24-year-old was charged with common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm after his partner Alexandra Ivkovic, also 24, suffered cuts to her shoulder, leg and feet in Dee Why on December 6.

In Manly Local Court on Tuesday, magistrate Chris Longley scheduled a hearing for February 26 with three witnesses due to testify.

An apprehended violence order application taken out by police on behalf of Ms Ivkovic has been adjourned to the same date.

Walker appeared in court with his manager, Wayne Beavis, but his partner did not attend.

Previously the Sea Eagles centre's lawyer, Ramy Qutami, has said he understood a retraction statement would be filed by Ms Ivkovic.
