Alleged NSW fraudster pleads not guilty

An elderly Sydney woman accused of defrauding about $150,000 from Meals on Wheels has pleaded not guilty.
Marlene Barry, 72, is alleged to have swindled $148,984.05 from the non-for-profit organisation between December 2007 and August 2014 while working as a client accounts officer.
She pleaded not guilty during a brief appearance at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday, where her matter will return in December.

Forensic accountants were hired by the organisation after its finance team allegedly found discrepancies in the accounts in September 2014.
Barry, who's been charged with stealing property as a clerk greater than $15,000, remains on conditional bail.
She will return to court on December 3.
