A man accused of bashing four people during a two-hour rampage in Sydney's southwest will remain behind bars after his matter was adjourned by a court.

It's alleged Rick Hema first punched a man, 46, in the face while he was sitting at a Punchbowl bar on Sunday afternoon before turning on a 72-year-old man and kicking and hitting him.

The elderly alleged victim required stitches to his head.

About two hours later, Hema allegedly punched and kicked a 27-year-old man in the head at the car park of a Campsie unit block.

"The 27-year-old man was taken to St George Hospital where he remains in a serious condition," police said.

Soon after this alleged attack, Hema, 35, is accused of shoulder charging a 46-year-old man after being kicked out of a Belfield pub.

He was on Tuesday charged with four offences including one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Hema did not appear during a brief mention at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday and is due to front the same court on February 3 via audiovisual link.
