Woman escapes jail after threatening to kill husband's favourite topless model

A Swiss woman who threatened to kill a topless model because her husband enjoyed looking at pictures of her in a tabloid newspaper will escape jail if she agrees to pay a fine of more than $10,000.

The unnamed woman, from St Gallen in the east of Switzerland, became incensed that her husband would rush to buy tabloid newspaper Blick in order to ogle the nude and semi-nude photos of "Jill".

When she found out that her husband had voted for the woman in a poll the newspaper ran for girl of the year, her anger kicked up a gear.

First she targeted the paper's editor, demanding that he drop the glamour shoots or face the consequences.

"I don't want to see any more naked breasts in the paper," she wrote. "Otherwise you're going to find them with their throats cut on a rubbish dump somewhere."

The she started to target Jill herself, vowing to kill her unless she stopped appearing topless in the news.

"Jill, do you know that you are a dirty little whore?" she wrote. "Just on the off chance that you decide to turn up topless in Blick again, we are going to kill you."

"We know who you are and what your daily routine is."

She claimed that she had engaged an assassin to kill the model.

The woman also targeted advertisers in the paper, promising a "bloodbath" at the stores of a sex shop chain that took out display ads near Jill's shoots.

It took police two years to get to the bottom of the case, finding out that it was marital jealousy motivating the woman.

She pleaded guilty to charges of making threats and falsifying documents, and faces 120 days in jail if she refuses to pay the fine.
