A video from 1992 showing George Michael and David Bowie, two music icons who died this year, is proving a hit on social media.

The pop star who died on Christmas Day aged 53 is shown rehearsing for the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in April 1992, singing Somebody to Love.

Bowie, who died in January this year, is shown in early footage on the sidelines of the studio as Michael nails the vocally demanding song backed by members of Mercury's rock band Queen.

In later footage Bowie is seen, standing next to a dreadlocked Seal, applauding Michael's performance.

Bowie also performed at the same concert, singing Under Pressure with Annie Lennox.

When Michael eventually performed Somebody To Love in front of thousands at Wembley Stadium in London, Queen were very impressed.

Guitarist Brian May declared: “There’s a certain note in his voice that is pure Freddie."
