Video shows Swedish hunting dog survive attack by wolves

A hunting dog in Sweden has survived an attack from wolves as she was trudging through the forest looking for moose.

Video has emerged online of the elkhound, Klara, walking through the region with her owner nearby in Värmland, Sweden when she suddenly spots a wolf a few metres ahead.

Klara moves forward towards the wolf and as a fight breaks out, another wolf joins the clash.

The GoPro camera, which was attached to Klara’s collar, shows the dog struggling, baring her teeth and moving around frantically as the wolves repeatedly lunge at and bite her.

Fortunately, she survived, and was given veterinary care within 20 minutes of sustaining her wounds, which consisted of 15-20 bite marks and damage to her ear, Swedish magazine Svensk Jakt reported.

Klara’s owner had been a distance behind her during the attack and believed she had found a moose.

He was carrying technology to monitor Klara’s location at all times.
