Met Gala 2026 live updates: A-listers hit the red carpet for fashion's biggest night; Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams co-hosts

That brings our coverage of this year's Met Gala to a close.

We've seen some stunning and creative looks, with my personal favourite being tied between Kylie Jenner and Janelle Monáe.

Beyoncé smashed it out of the park with her diamond skeleton look, while Hailey Bieber sunned in a golden corset that was literally sculpted to her body.

You can't forget the references to famous artworks that were scattered in outfits throughout the night.

Well, tonight we have seen some fabulous looks from massive silhouettes to bold feathered hats, but who truly met the dress code of "Fashion Is Art"?

For me the clear winners have to be Luke Evans and Heidi Klum, who absolutely understood the assignment and truly turned up!!!

Both delivered looks that felt artistic and completely in line with the theme, proving that fashion can be ART.

Jeans have always had a long history of being disruptive in fashion.

Originally created as durable workwear for miners and labourers in the 1800s, denim later became a symbol of rebellion in the 1950s, thanks to cultural icons who turned jeans into a statement of youth rebellion and nonconformity.

That makes denim such an interesting choice for Troye Sivan to wear to the Met this year.

While many have criticised the look for not feeling dressed up enough for the Met Gala, Troye has always been known for breaking the rules and making bold fashion statements.

This could easily be another one of those moments…where in fact, he is the art, and the clothes are simply the canvas.

Artificially generated looks have overtaken social media, showing celebrities at the Met Gala who weren't even in the city.

Last year, one AI photo of Katy Perry attending The Met did the rounds on X, but this year, the timeline is flooded with them.

Rihanna has shown up late to the Met as always, but who can be mad at her when she looks this good!

The singer opted for a gold look from head to toe.

"Rihanna has completely outshined the Met Gala carpet with an incredible look," our fashion expert Jye said.

"It's such a brilliant play on costume jewellery, using jewellery and accessories themselves as the artwork."

"The sparkle, structure, and attention to detail prove once again that Rihanna knows exactly how to own a Met Gala moment."

Her partner, A$AP Rocky, joined her on the carpet.

While celebrities were walking the red carpet, protestors allegedly broke into a brawl just outside the main tent.

Page Six reported that a person protesting Amazon's labour practices tried to rush the red carpet.

The outlet alleged the individual "pushed his way through the crowd of fans and press and  jumped over multiple steel barriers."

Adding they "sprinted through traffic," and then "vaulted" another barrier.

This year's Met has been hit with serious criticisms due to Jeff Bezos's involvement in the event.

We repeat, she's on the way.

She's fashionably late every year, but she's been spotted leaving the hotel for the biggest fashion night of the year.

As the carpet almost comes to a close (but we all know there's a few latecomers) we can't help but notice some noticeable absences.

While Romeo Beckham showed up to represent the family, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz-Beckham, who are Met Gala veterans, were nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, the Kardashian clan arrived without their partners, with Timothée Chalamet and Lewis Hamilton not at this year's event.

Kris Jenner also showed up without her partner, Corey Gamble.

Hailey Bieber was in attendance, but her Yukon singer husband, Justin Bieber, did not attend this year's Met.

Those who were hoping Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce would make their red carpet debut at this year's Met have also been let down, as the pop star and her fiancé did not attend the event.

Rhianna is yet to make an appearance… but she usually arrives fashionably late. Let's see!
