Supermodel offered $1.8m 'for dinner date'

Former supermodel Claudia Schiffer has revealed she was the subject of an indecent proposal — the 43-year-old said an Arab prince once offered £1 million ($1.8 million) to hire her for an evening.

The leggy German said she declined the offer but it was willingly taken up by another supermodel, the Daily Mail reports.

Schiffer revealed the regal offer when quizzed about the most bizarre moments of her career as one of the world's top models.

"The strangest one was an Arab prince. He asked if he could hire me for a dinner for a million pounds. I declined, and some other supermodel took it," she told British talk show host Jonathan Ross.

"It's not all about money. I just want to be able to walk down the street and be proud of what I do."

The scenario is reminiscent of the 1993 film Indecent Proposal. However, in the movie Demi Moore's character accepts US$1 million to spend the night with a tycoon so her husband can start a business.
