Rolf Harris indecency trial starts in UK

Rolf Harris is appearing in a London court by video link on the first day of his trial on charges of indecently assaulting women and girls.

The 86-year-old will face seven accusers over alleged offences committed between 1971 and 2004 when the complainants were aged between 12 and 27 at the time.

The jury was set to be empanelled on Monday for a trial set down for four or more weeks in Southwark Crown Court.

Harris has been granted leave to appear by video link on the grounds of his age and state of health.
