Lifestyle superpowers: World's top 10 'best' countries to live in revealed
The latest 'Best Countries Ranking' from US News and Word Report, carried out in partnership with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has been published.
Nearly 17,000 people from 90 nations were canvassed in a survey aimed at measuring a nation's worth beyond hard facts and figures.
The result is a ranking of countries based around factors such as quality of life, adventure, heritage as well as entrepreneurship and social purpose.

10. Denmark
The Scandinavian country ranks highly for progressive taxation, social mobility and has a higher education system that is free.
The Danish form of government is regarded as stable and highly transparent.
8. Britain
The United Kingdom scores highly for its global power, although questions remain if it is waning since the nation's tumultous departure from the European Union in 2016.
But as the birthplace of literary icon William Shakespeare, the UK is also ranked highly for cultural influence.
7. Germany
The most populous nation in the European Union and possessing a powerhouse economy, Germany received a 100 per cent score for entrepreneurship.
The country was also ranked highly for quality of life.
6. Sweden
Sweden's long-standing commitment to human right earned it scores of more than 99 per cent for social purpose and quality of life.
The country's export-dependent economy made it number three in the "open for business" category.
3. United States
With the world's largest economy and military, it's no surprise the United States ranks top for power and entrepreneurship.
The country is also in top spot for meeting and adapting to major changes.
2. Japan
The country with the third-largest economy in the world, Japan has rebounded from natural disasters and business downturns.
Its centuries-old culture and many UNESCO World Heritage sites earned it fifth spot for cultural influence.
