American business woman and TV celebrity Martha Stewart was indicted by a grand jury on nine counts of insider trading and obstruction of justice on June 4, 2003.
Her business interests in home decor, publishing and electronic commerce had made her a multi-millionaire.
But the following year, in a spectacular fall from grace, Stewart and her stockbroker were found guilty.
She was sentenced to seven months in a low-security prison.
Hundreds of angry residents in a Victorian town on June 4, 1970, signed a petition against the casting of rock star Mick Jagger as Australian folk hero and bushranger Ned Kelly in the film of the same name.
Jagger was among actors and crew based around Glenrowan, the scene of the Kelly gang's final siege and arrest.

On June 4, 1783, brothers Joseph and Etienne Montgolfier gave their first public demonstration of a model hot air balloon launched from a French chateau and carrying the first living creatures.
The prototype balloon successfully carried a hen and duck about two kilometres, paving the way for the historic first human flight five months later.
