A seven-year-old boy in the US who donated all the money in his piggy back to a Texas mosque that was recently vandalised has been rewarded for his generosity.

Defiled pages from a Koran were left outside the Islamic Center of Pflugerville triggering an outpouring of support from the community.

Jack Swanson and his mother Laura told KVUE they wanted to support the mosque to show “what happened in Paris is not what’s happening in Pflugerville”.

Jack donated all the pennies he had collected while saving for an iPad, totally US$20.

Yesterday, photos were uploaded to Imgur showing Jack with a parcel he received in the mail.

“Dear Jack,” an enclosed note reads, “You had saved $20 in your piggybank for an Apple iPad but then a local Islamic mosque as vandalised so you donated your $20 to this local Texas mosque. Because of your amazing generosity and kind heart. Please enjoy this Apple iPad with our sincere thanks. Love, The American Muslim Community.”

Mosque board member Faisal Naeem told ABC News US Jack’s generosity gave him hope for the future.
