New toilets surrounded by glass at the Shiyanhu Ecologic Park in Changsha are nothing short of ground-breaking – hopefully not literally.

The toilets’ cubicles are only separated by a thin layer of frosted glass, and the walls, floor and roof are fully see-through.

“We wanted to make something unique… exciting and adventurous,” park employee Yang Lang told the South China Morning Post.

The toilets are surrounded by views of the forest’s treetops and the Shiyan Lake and were officially opened on Thursday.

It follows the closure of a glass bridge at the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon last month, just thirteen days after it was opened to the public.

Authorities denied the closure was due to damage to the bridge.
