X posts banned in Reddit forums over Elon Musk's inauguration gesture
Vast swathes of social media site Reddit are introducing bans on links to X in response to owner Elon Musk's behaviour at the inauguration.
Users are no longer able to link to X, formerly Twitter, at many forums on the site known as subreddits.
The subreddits for NFL, Formula One, Christianity, PC Gaming, Nintendo, the New York Yankees and Liverpool Football Club have all banned X links.

Subreddits are operated not by the company itself but by unpaid moderators able to set their own rules and restrictions.
"X has become increasingly hateful, toxic and less and less moderated. This has, in turn, made us less comfortable with letting our subreddit link it to other people," the moderators for PC Gaming, which has 3.4 million subscribers, wrote.
"Not to mention the distasteful things Elon Musk has done recently."
The subreddit for military members and enthusiasts, /r/military, was more concise.
A post announcing the ban on X posts had a three word explanation: "F— that guy".

Usage of X has been in decline since Musk bought the company.
While Reddit is not as popular as X, it has close to 100 million daily active users.
But the backlash has grown in the past few days after Musk's gesture at an inauguration event, widely described as a Nazi salute.
"A Hitler salute is a Hitler salute is a Hitler salute," an editorial in leading German newspaper Die Zeit read.
"Anyone who raises their right arm in a sweeping and diagonal manner several times during a political speech in front of a partly right-wing extremist audience is doing the Hitler salute.

Meanwhile, a TV weather presenter in Wisconsin was sacked from her job after criticising Musk's gesture on her personal Instagram.
"Dude Nazi saluted twice. TWICE. During the inauguration," Sam Kuffel wrote.
Kuffel was fired from WDJT-TV in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
