Passengers lift tram off trapped Dublin schoolgirl
The schoolgirl was screaming in agony when her leg was caught underneath a tram carriage in Dublin, Ireland.
But then dozens of commuters banded together and pushed the tram enough for the girl to free her leg and escape with just scrapes and bruises.
The incident recalls the amazing effort just weeks earlier of train commuters in Perth rocking a train carriage back and forth to free a man whose leg was trapped.
The girl in this latest video from Ireland, filmed by passer-by Lukasz Piguła, had been running for a bus around 7.30am today to start her first day of the new school year, the Irish Mirror reports. She is believed to be around 16 or 17.
Witnesses said the weight of the girl's bag made her trip onto the tram tracks just as a tram came and dragged her several metres before the driver was able to make an emergency stop.
The girl was taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.
