'Let's all hug Meghan!' Royals swamped on Cardiff visit

A train made Meghan and Harry late, but the crowds in Cardiff didn’t care.

The royal couple’s third official engagement followed what is now becoming a familiar line.

Huge crowds of young and old alike. All cheering.

All hoping to shake the hand and exchange a few words with Britain’s favourite Prince and his soon-to-be bride.

A couple of thousand people braved the cold at Cardiff Castle to show Meghan a bit of Wales and its culture.

Many had waited nearly six hours.

From waving dragon flags to handing Meghan and Harry a Celtic love spoon, it was all very Welsh.

And inside the castle the couple was treated to displays of Welsh dancing and poetry.

This is all part of a tour to show Meghan the UK, and introduce her to her in-laws’ subjects before the big wedding on May 19.

The build-up is already big, and there’s still 4 months to go until the day that has captured the attention of the world.

Today's engagement in Cardiff was just a small slice of what’s to come.

Meghan is a Welsh name. It means Pearl.

And the people of the UK are proving they think Harry’s bride is precious.
