Man finds mountain lion perched on his Camry

A Californian man investigating what caused his car alarm to go off in the middle of the night was met with a fearsome surprise.

A surveillance camera mounted outside David Tang’s garage showed a mountain lion climbing onto his parked Toyota Camry around 3am local time Tuesday, KGO-TV reports.

Experts say the animal was trying to get a better view of its surroundings to look for prey.

It’s believed the young predator was probably less than two years old, weighed approximately 30-35kg and could have been trying to establish its territory.

Mr Tang said residents needed to be aware.

“People walk around here at night time and walk with their dogs, so it’s dangerous for the people if they don’t know,” he said.
