ISIL executioner 'Jihadi John' vows to return to Britain to continue killings

The notorious ISIL militant known as Jihadi John has reportedly been captured unmasked on film for the first time.

Jihadi John was revealed to be 27-year-old former Londoner Mohammed Emwazi in February and was on Sunday reportedly captured on mobile phone in a black hoodie making graphic threats to return home.

“I am Mohammed Emwazi,” he said in the video, obtained by UK newspaper The Mail.

“I will soon go back to Britain with the Khalifa [ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi].

“I will carry on cutting heads.”

Emwazi is seen in profile alongside a truck mounted with heavy artillery, before he turns to look into the camera directly.

The video was leaked to an activist for the Free Syrian Army, who passed the clip on to UK media.

The grainy video was reportedly filmed in the ISIL-held Syrian town of Deir Ezzor around two months ago.

Emwazi is believed to be behind the graphic executions of at least seven foreigners and a host of Syrian soldiers on camera in disturbing propaganda films.

He has not appeared on camera in an official ISIL capacity since January, when he purportedly beheaded two Japanese hostages.

In the wake of the murder of journalist James Foley in August last year, the US placed a US$10 million (A$13.7 million) bounty for Emwazi’s capture.
