Driver gives new meaning to stuck in traffic
A thoughtless motorist in China has made a $100,000 wrong turn and driven his luxury car into wet concrete on an unfinished road.
Desperate to get home quickly, the driver of the Mercedes E-Class reportedly ignored the warnings of road workers to take a shortcut down the path that was being resurfaced.
A humorous video shows how far the impatient man managed to speed through the concrete slush – about 200 metres before the expensive vehicle came to a halt as the concrete began to set, leaving deep tyre treads behind him.
The ill-fated car trip is believed to have happened recently in the Guangdong Province, according to local media reports.
The car was stuck for 14 hours before workers managed to dig it out, the MailOnline reports. Workmen needed a jackhammer to drill away at the hardened concrete around the Mercedes' wheels – miraculously appearing to salvage the car.
