Father dies while driving pregnant wife to hospital

An American man has died after he crashed his car while driving his pregnant wife to hospital.
According to 9 News Colorado, Mr Tony Schmucker, 37, had a medical episode which caused him to veer off the road and crash into an embankment.
The car, which was also carrying Mr Schmucker’s wife, Jill, and their two sons, hit a boulder and a tree before rolling over.
The family was rushed to hospital after the accident in the early hours of Wednesday January 13.
Mr Schmucker did not survive but his third son was delivered safely via emergency C-section. The children only had minor injuries.
A GoFundMe page set up to raise money for Mrs Schmucker, 35, and her children has raised US$41,000 in four days.
According to the page’s creator and Mr Schmucker’s former co-worker, Betsy Harper, it was the couple’s young son, Ryder, who called 911 while his parents were unconscious.
