A disgruntled driver has rammed his car into a couple on a motorcycle sending them sprawling onto the street.

A witness to the ugly incident in Florida told local TV network WTSP he started filming the driver when he made an earlier attempt to run the bikers off the road.

The video shows five people on three bikes and one of the bikers can be heard yelling: "get out of the car".

The driver of the car suddenly swerves his car into the front motorcycle, pushing the bike over and crunching it on his tires before driving off.

Luckily, the couple on the motorcycle were knocked to the ground behind the motorbike and appeared to have both escaped major injury.

US navy veteran Joe Calderazzo was on the bike pushed over and said he "thought the guy was trying to kill us".

Earlier in the day the bikers had taken part in a Memorial Day bike ride for veterans.

Police caught up with the driver and charged 31-year-old Robert Paul Vance with hit-and-run, a moving traffic violation and aggravated battery.

Officers said Vance had a history of traffic offences.
