Cyclist riding down middle of road wiped out by truck

A cyclist clipped by a truck was left lying injured in the middle of a busy Russian motorway.

The man appeared to narrowly avoid any serious injuries when hurled from his bike in the high-speed collision near St Petersburg recently.

Video footage posted to YouTube on Tuesday shows the truck nearly drag the cyclist under its back wheels when the driver cuts him off as he indicates right.

On impact, a loud metallic thud sounds and the rider is thrown to the ground along with his destroyed racer.

Two other cyclists riding tandem with the victim hit the asphalt shortly afterwards before dragging their wincing friend to safety as he hold his injured leg.

The driver of the truck does not appear to stop.
