Crowd lifts car to free toddler trapped underneath

A group of bystanders have banded together to lift a car off a young boy in China.

CCTV footage shared by ABC News shows the two-year-old crossing the busy street in Chongqing, in southwest China, earlier this week to reportedly look for his grandmother.

Suddenly the child is struck by a red car, which rolls over him and promptly stops.

Almost immediately dozens of witnesses then rush to the vehicle and work together to lift the car.

The boy reportedly escaped major injury after the dramatic ordeal, sustaining only facial bruises.

It is alleged the driver of the car was distracted at the time of the incident, ABC News reported.
