Boeing Dreamliner performs stunts

Big commercial jets can do cool tricks too.

From a sharp vertical climb after take-off to a series of dramatic turns, pilots on Boeing’s new 787-9 Dreamliner have showed off the large aircraft's impressive maneuverability.

Footage posted online and seen about 1.3 million times shows pilots Mike Byran and Randy Neville in a rehearsal for a test flight at Britain's Farnborough Airshow last weekend.

The plane climbs at a 30-degree angle after take-off, conducts a 60-degree bank turn, then lands and takes off again in just a few seconds.

The pilots are able to perform the stunts because of the aircraft's super lightweight design which also makes it fuel efficient, the MailOnline reports. The 63m-long plane normally holds 280 passengers but no passengers were on board when the footage was taken.

The Dreamliner began flying last month and Boeing said it will be used on several international flights.
