Bee colony takes over student's Nissan Micra

As many as 20,000 bees decided to create a colony in the car of a shocked UK student.

21-year-old George Neal from Portsmouth, England woke to discover his Nissan Micra had become a cadmium green beehive while it was parked outside of his home overnight.

“It was a bit of a strange sight. The bees were pretty timid though - they weren't really interested in anything but George's car,” one of Neal's housemates, Rory Edwards, told ITV. “Maybe they wanted a lift.”

“Although none of us are allergic, we thought George probably would not want his car covered in a swarm of bees.

“He did literally have a bee in his bonnet though.”

A local beekeeper removed the swarm and told the bemused students young queens were currently in swarming season and would leave the hive to find a place to create and raise a new colony.
