Pakistan is observing a day of mourning following the crash of an army helicopter which killed seven people, including the ambassadors from Norway and the Philippines.

The helicopter with the dignitaries was on route to the northern village of Naltar on Friday, where Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was to inaugurate a newly installed chair-lift at a ski resort.

The Pakistani Taliban claimed they shot down the helicopter, but officials have denied it.

The wives of the envoys from Malaysia and Indonesia were also killed in the crash.

The funeral for the three crew members was held in the northern city of Gilgit on Saturday.

If the weather remains clear, the bodies of the four dignitaries will be transported from Gilgit to Islamabad later in the day.
