Pakistan's coronavirus cases spike to 184

Pakistan's coronavirus infections have spiked, with over 130 new cases appearing in one day from all across the country, a spokesperson for the health ministry says.

The majority of patients stem from Taftan, a border town, where hundreds of Pakistanis were quarantined after returning from Iran, which has the highest number of cases and deaths behind China and Italy.

Officials fear that the number of patients will rise exponentially as a large number of suspected patients were waiting for lab results.

The news comes after authorities had sealed border with Iran and Afghanistan, restricted international flights to only three airports and banned public gatherings to control the spread of the virus.
