Minor earthquake hits eastern North Korea

A 2.8-magnitude earthquake has struck eastern North Korea, South Korea's meteorological agency says.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said the quake, detected at 6.38pm (AEST) in an area 30 kilometres northeast of Sinhung County, is believed to have occurred naturally.
