Indonesian hardline leader named a suspect

The leader of the Indonesian hardline Muslim group the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) has been named a suspect over comments about the country's founding principals and first President.

Just months after Rizieq Shahib spearheaded two large-scale protests demanding the immediate jailing of Jakarta's Christian governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama for comments he made referring to the Koran, the FPI leader has found himself also named a suspect.

West Java Provincial Police Spokesman Col. Yusri Yunus said Rizieq has been named a suspect for defamation following comments he made regarding Indonesia's state ideology - Pancasila and the first president Sukarno.
