Exclusive: David Genat journeys through India ahead of tonight's Rush 2023 adventure

Tonight's Rush destination takes the contestants from one extreme to the other.

Following the remoteness of the Wadi Rum Desert in Jordan, the colour and chaos of India will be quite the adjustment for the contestants.

As host David Genat says, "there's nowhere else in the world quite like India".

Ahead of Episode 4 of Rush – which will air at 7:30pm tonight – David takes us on a tour of India's vibrate landscapes – from majestic mountains to picturesque lakes.

"A land of diverse heritage, cultural abundance and timeless traditions," David explains.

"It is home to ancient temples, bustling markets, mouth watering cuisine and warm-hearted people."

The first stop on David's tour is Jaipur, also known as the Pink City thanks to the dominant rosy colour scheme of the buildings.

"In the heart of this magical city stands the Pink Palace, a mesmerising architectural masterpiece that will take your breath away," David continues.

David explains that the palace is where "the king used to keep his ladies" so to speak.

The princesses would look out from the windows of the palace but could not be seen from the outside.

"The king liked to keep things secret liked that," David says.

The colour pink was considered a symbolic colour of hospitality and so it was painted pink to welcome the Prince of Wales in 1876.
