After Gemma was eliminated from The Summit, Jans quickly realised that the game wasn't just a battle of strength and fitness.

And since he made a few enemies from being complicit in a lie with Sam and Gemma, he decided it was time to keep himself safe by making pals on the mountain – even if it meant putting on a fake front.

While at camp, Jans cooked up a storm for his teammates and later upped the ante by complimenting their hairdos.

"I think it's more than clear now that it takes more than muscle to get up on that mountain," he told cameras.

"You have to be socialising with everyone, especially with people I hadn't spoken to before."

Jans was determined to follow through on his new strategy even if it meant doing things he had no interest in – like taking part in a dance class

"Annikki threw together a little a dance class before, which I didn't really like but I got involved just to kind of... be around it," he admitted.

"To show that I care. But really I don't give a s--t."

Even Jans admitted that his tactic was "pretty brutal" but he "would do anything to get up the top".
