Zaha Hadid Architects will carry on without its founder

Zaha Hadid Architects has announced they will continue to practise under the company name without its founder, who past at the end of March. Although the firm's spiralling car park and public plaza in Miami was rejected by city officials on Tuesday, the firm currently has 26 projects in 21 countries under construction, with four to be completed later this year. Here's a look at the four hotly-anticipated projects to come in 2016.  

Salerno Maritime Terminal

The Salerno Maritime Terminal will be officially be opened to the public later this month by Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. The new terminal space features characteristic Hadid curves, allows ferries and cruise ships to dock from Salerno connecting passengers to the historic towns along the Amalfi coastline in Italy.

King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (KAPSARC) will open in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia come October. This new centre will service the non-profit institution, which researches the effects of energy consumption on the environment and challenges for society, is being built with sustainable construction methods and materials. The new centre has been designed to minimise energy and resource consumption and has been designed as six-sided cells, which appear to emerge from the surrounding desert as a cluster of crystal-like forms.
