Take a peek inside this city's weirdest homes

While suburbs around the world are becoming more gentrified, home owners in Austin, Texas, are doing their part to Keep Austin Weird with their artful interiors.

Now in its fourth year, the Weird Homes Tour offers visitors to Austin a look inside some of the city’s most usual homes. 

Founded in 2014 by Chelle and David J. Neff, the hours have been created to take people through fun, and often strange homes, bringing attention to the housing affordability issues that are driving these dwellers out of the cities. 

The annual tour donates 10 percent of proceeds to Foundation Communities, a local nonprofit that provides housing and free on-site support services, and other housing nonprofits. 

The tour highlights collector's of art and curiosities, which all seem to follow maximalist aesthetics with collages, murals and in one case a multiple doll heads. 

Among the most eccentric homes is the "cabinet of curiosities." Used as the TV home of Tim Riggins in Friday Night Lights, its interiors are sadly void of football paraphernalia, but more than make up for this with a WWI surgical table, X-ray lamps, and a police car hood with a working siren that acts as a very loud door bell.
