Trippy wall system morphs Paris office space

In a time of peak saturation when it comes to novelty office blocks, French Architect Stephane Malka has brought back a little design clout to tricksy work spaces with her design of a flexible partition system for a new office space in Paris.

The company, who specialises in computer education, commissioned the architect to work with their team in creating a workplace that incorporated multipurpose zones which could be reconfigured when needed.

Malka and her design team created and patented a floating wall system which is suspended three millimetres above the floor and below the ceiling, allowing the rooms to be reconfigured into new spaces when needed. This new system is patented under the name MuMo. 

The effect makes the office appear like a giant three-dimensional optical illusion or a super-abstract chessboard.

As the walls move, they toy with the occupiers' sense of space, creating distortions through mirrors and the illusion of symmetries and fish-eye effects. Basically, it's designed to play with you.

Although the video above is rather hypnotic, this cool design must cause some hilarious disorientation for employees when it comes to finding their meetings.
