From flat-pack wall art to 3D functional furniture in seconds

Proving to be way ahead of the game, Netherlands-based designer Jongha Choi has created a collection of benches and stools called ‘de-dimension’ that convert from a flat, two-dimensional art-like object, into a three-dimensional functional piece of furniture.  

Choi’s primary-colour collection certainly offers a practical solution for apartment dwellers who need flexible furniture solutions, though his reasoning for developing the stool is situated in the realm of art theory rather than convenience. He poses the question why an image shouldn't carry a more versatile purpose than being confined to a flat surface.
