You might not realise it, but the paint colour you chose for your home affects so much more than just the aesthetics.

According to psychics, colour gives off strong vibrations which impact everything from our mood to our sleep patterns. And certain rooms benefit from being painted in certain shades.

Taubmans psychic Harry T says: "While there's not any one colour that's known for its negativity, certain colours definitely bring positivity. Orange and yellow, for example, inspire happiness, creativity and cheer."

Here Harry reveals the paint colours you need in each room for a happy, healthy, balanced home.

Paint your bedroom... Lavender

"Calming, restful shades like lavender and soft violet will transform your bedroom", Harry explains. He recommends picking up a pot of Taubmans Colour of the Year: Violet Verbena. "Violet is the spiritual shade connected to the intuitive crown chakra", he says. "It's the perfect calming balance of femininity and masculinity for a restful night."

Paint your bathroom... White

"White has a beautiful elegant energy that's so well suited to the bathroom", Harry says. If colour is a must for you, he recommends opting for sophisticated muted pastel shades rather than brights to create a clean, fresh feel.

Paint your living room...Teal

"Just like in the bedroom, you want to create a cool, calm and relaxed space here, so avoid dark colours", Harry says. "Green is really popular with my clients at the moment. Keep bright greens to a feature wall and opt for teal on the other walls."
