Redo rooms: All the scores, all the feedback

Heading into re-do room delivery, things were varied and chaotic. Hayden and Sara couldn’t agree on anything, with Hayden admitting he didn’t enjoy getting bossed around… all the time, anyway.
There was no time for Courtney’s indecision, which left her more indecisive than ever. The girls were just heads down and focused on getting everything done.
Kerrie and Spence were being their usual selves, cracking puns and having each other’s backs. And Jess and Norm were in a world of fireplace pain.
With time quickly running out, Norm managed to beat the odds and slip in a 500kg beam to add reinforcement and hang the fireplace. With actual millimetres to spare, he was so happy he actually smiled for the first time in days.
The rooms completed, it was time to judge the Blockheads’ efforts. With Shaynna Blaze at the helm, accompanied by Scott Cam and Shelley Craft, Jess knew just one thing – they had done everything Shaynna had asked of them.
There was $10,000 up for grabs for the team that had made the biggest effort and proved they had listened to the judges.
Kerrie and Spence’s Living/Dining was deemed more homely – a win after being compared to a boardroom previously, Despite Kerrie admitting she felt like it was just a tweaked version of her normal delivery, Shaynna awarded them a C+ for a mild improvement.
The judges loathed Hayden and Sara’s original Guest Bedroom, but Shaynna hated the re-do too. The bedhead still jarred, there were random roses laid on books as styling items and Shaynna felt the whole thing missed the mark. “Just because you throw a lot at it doesn’t make it right,” she explained. “There’s just too much going on.” They managed to scrape through with a C+.
He didn’t need to worry. “Now that’s what I want to see!” Shaynna said joyously, when she spotted the relocated fireplace she had previously dubbed “the tonsil”.
“This fireplace is a feature!” she said happily, explaining the move was money well spent. She was also joyous about the new 10-seater table, awarding the pair an A for their efforts. “It’s pretty hard to beat,” she admitted.
While Shaynna loved what the girls had done to rectify their Master Bedroom, it didn’t compare with the efforts of Jess and Norm, even though they scored a (hesitant) A+.
“That cost us a fortune!” shared Jess of the tweaks.
Minus ten thousand, a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears and a few years off Norm’s lifespan – we’re guessing they still think it was worth it.
