Hot off the heels of the listing of an entire Caribbean island on Ebay comes our own Australian version of a real estate bulk buy with the listing whole town in WA. Although, less exotic and glamorous, the listed village of Tone River, in Manjimup, WA, has its perks — starting with its reasonable price-tag of $1 million.

Domain reports, the once popular campsite village has been totally left empty since 2008, but has been well-maintained over the nine years since being abandoned.

According to State Heritage Office records, the Tone River settlement was established in 1949, around a timber mill and was a destination for schools and sporting groups until its closure in 2004. The site was then leased to a private company, who shipped out in 2008, but continued to maintain the site's cottages and land.

The property features 20 self-contained cottages (some large enough to sleep up to 10 people), tennis and volleyball courts, a town hall and workshop, a swimming hole, and walking trails.

A site like this has endless potential; from a wellness camp to a doomsday community, you could even grab a bunch of mates start your own town and call yourself the mayor.

The listing agent Collin Wallbank from LJ Hooker Pemberton told Domain the property has already gained lots of attention since being listed in late December, including interest from church groups, not-for-profit organisations and rehabilitation services.
